WELCOME TO THE CAPITOL CHAPTER OF JDRF!
The Capitol Chapter serves the DC Metro region offering invaluable community outreach, support, and education and organizing events throughout the year to raise funds for diabetes research.
Our membership includes families in the District of Columbia; Charles, Montgomery, Prince George's and St. Mary's Counties in Maryland; Arlington, Fairfax, Loudoun, and Prince William Counties in Virginia;
and Berkeley and Jefferson Counties in West Virginia.
The chapter was founded almost 33 years ago, and has consistently been a leader within JDRF through active volunteer participation, substantial fundraising successes, and a wide range of community, educational and informational services.Since its founding in 1970 by parents of children with juvenile diabetes, JDRF nationally has awarded more than $1 billion to diabetes research.
The Capitol Chapter's volunteers plan, organize, and conduct various fundraising projects throughout the year. Our calendar of events includes formal and informal evening parties, a fundraising walk, holiday gift wraps at local shopping malls, a sports-themed competition
among area real estate firms and a Congressional dinner.
